Animal Production Research is an open access journal which publishes original, basic and applied papers on research relating to domesticated animals (cows, sheep, goats and poultry); however, contributions on other animals may be published where relevant. Topics covered include animal breeding and genetics, animal nutrition, animal physiology and reproduction, livestock farming systems, sustainability and resource management, animal behavior, health and welfare, feed quality and nutritional value, veterinary medicine and husbandry engineering. All papers submitted to this journal are peer-reviewed. This journal uses the digital archiving policy of Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC). 

The Animal Production Research is published quarterly (four issues per year) in March, June, September, and December by the University of Guilan, Rasht, Iran.

The abbreviated title of this journal is “Anim. Prod. Res.”.
